We had a great experience getting married at Immanuel. The first thing that attracted us was the beautiful sanctuary. With floor to ceiling windows on one side and organ pipes lining the other, it was definitely a sight to see. The girls were able to get ready and rest in the library which also brought out some fine picture opportunities. But more than anything, we were glad that we met Pastor Derek and he was able to guide us through the marriage counseling and the wedding ceremony.
We were a little worried about finding a pastor marry us that we didn't know, but we put our worries aside after meeting him for some questions and joining in on a Sunday morning service. Pastor Derek is a very personable and down to earth guy who was great at helping us get our minds wrapped around the challenges and beauties of our soon to be marriage. He was able to give us great advice from his own experiences, and was very accommodating to our busy schedules.
Pastor Derek took some input from us for the sermon and delivered a message that was just perfect. We could tell that he put a lot of thought and time into preparing the sermon as well as the whole ceremony. After the wedding, many of our guests let us know that they genuinely enjoyed the sermon.
Along with the pastor, there were a handful of other members of Immanuel that were critical in making our wedding day run smoothly. Melva, the coordinator, worked extremely well with the organist/pianist and sound engineer and the ceremony went without a hitch!
I'd highly recommend Immanuel Lutheran as a church to get married in. It can seat 250+ people, looks beautiful, and the pastor/officiant is great!
